Playing DVD's on Airplay

We have seen issues when trying to play DVD's over Airplay to Apple TV's.  If you use VLC instead of Apple's DVD player it seems to work fine.  

After opening VLC, choose File - Open Disc and you should be good to go.

    I will be playing music or videos in my class for my students and Airplay will pause as if it's buffering or not being able to connect to the music or video apps.

    It's very inconvenient when I am trying to hold their attention and it keeps stop playing.
